Yellow-throated Hanging-Parrot (Loriculus pusillus)

Description:
Nuri is very small (12 cm), colored green with red tunggir. Upper body is bright green. Lower body green-yellow, tunggung and glowing red tail cover, there are yellow spots on the throat (females and young birds: a much smaller patches).
Iris and yellow beak, orange legs.

 
Voice:
Dentangan rippled: "Srii-ii" in the time fly.
Global Dissemination:
Endemic in Java and Bali.
Local spread and status:
In Java and Bali, commonly found in rain forests, from sea level to 2,000 m, possibly nomadic (moved around) and easily overlooked (not observed).

 
Habit:
Fast flying above the forest in small groups, with a roaring wings screaming. Eating flowers, flower buds and small fruits. Crawling and concurrently on the branches of a tree with an amusing style. Hard to see because of its small size and the color green. It has a strange habit, which is dependent sleep with the head down. Females often seem to carry nest material tucked in between the hairs tunggirnya.

 
Note:
Some authors place this species into Serindit Loriculus vernalis, but different colors and spread the cut off is proof of validity as separate species.
