Moluccan Cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis)

As the name implies, this bird comes from the spice islands, the Maluku.

Description and distribution
The body length of 40-50 cm cockatoo embarrassment. Crest feathers and pink. Eyelids white. Black colored beak. Movement is slow. Spread includes P. Ceram, Saparua, and Haruku contained in Maluku.

Population status
Cockatoo embarrassment of living in the lowlands between 100-1200 m above sea level in lowland primary forest areas. The population continues to decline and is now estimated to number about 8,000 fish live alone. One of the reasons for the decline of trade had reached 5000 fish per year in 1981-1985. Now this kind of vulnerable and incorporated into the appendix ICITES. This species is protected under the Government Regulation No. 7 / 1999.
